A quick couple of days hiking around Piedmont, AL in March. 16 miles of hiking over two days in mild, sunny weather. A highlight was discovering the ridge road trail in Mountain Longleaf NWR near Anniston. You just have to watch where you step, in case of unexploded ordnance from the old Fort McLellan! 🙂
Nice trip to Reno and the surronding mountain ranges in winter. 930 miles driven, 70 miles hiked (including snowshoe) and lots of work accomplished at the house. A highlight of the trip was Beckwourth Pass and the Frenchman Recreation Area near Chilcoot, CA. This is known as the Sierra Valley and gives rise to both the Yuba and Feather Rivers. Many more days of exploring ahead!
