Walking around Elm
A beautiful late afternoon in Elm. Looking east in Glarnerland. Piz Segnes is the prominent peak in the picture at ~ 10,200'.
Segnes Pass is just to the right of the peak at ~ 8600'. The jagged peaks to the right of the pass are called the Tschingelhorner.
Piz Sardona is behind Piz Segnes. This mountain range is considered a "Tectonic Arena" as it shows how mountain ranges are formed. The tops of the peaks are older rock (African continent) with younger rocks in a layer underneath (European continent).
